Drak Theatre, in collaboration with the Czech National Centre of ASSITEJ, represented the Czech Republic at the 21st ASSITEJ World Congress & Performing Arts Festival for Children & Young People in Havana

Drak Theatre has recently returned from a week-long tour. The production Bedtime!, directed by Veronika Poldauf Riedlbauchová, was selected for this international showcase along with 14 other foreign productions out of a total of 542 submitted projects. The production in Havana was seen by dozens of Cuban children from invited schools as well as dozens of international promoters and experts in children’s and youth theatre from around the world. As a result, Drak Theatre received several invitations to other international festivals and many valuable contacts and experiences.


29th edition of the REGIONS International Theatre Festival Hradec Králové

Under the auspices of the Klicpera Theatre, the Drak Theatre and the cultural non-profit kontrapunkt, Hradec Králové will become a stage for artists from all over Europe for the last week of June from 21 to 28 June. The festival, inspired by the theme Shiver. Fluidity. Balance will take place in more than 40 venues across the city with more than 300 events planned. (more…)

Visit the exhibition Don’t Be Afraid!

We have newly created an English version of the worksheets and descriptions for our short-term exhibition in the Drak Theatre’s Labyrinth. Come and discover the world of fear and learn how to come to terms with it. This new, interactive exhibition Don’t be Afraid! will convince every visitor, young or old, that you don’t need to fear fear!

Nonverbal productions or performances with English subtitles

We want everyone to enjoy our programs, even those who do not speak Czech. Our repertoire includes several nonverbal productions. We also provide English subtitles for selected performances of our Czech productions.


We where there – Hands on! Create the magic!

Tomáš Jarkovský and Barbora Kalinová from Drak Theatre attended the international conference Hands on! Create the magic!, which took place in Zetrum Paul Klee Bern in Switzerland.
Other representatives of Czech cultural organizations who attended the conference were representatives from Sladovna Písek and NaFilm: National Film Museum.

Antigone and Bedtime!, two productions of the Drak Theatre, are travelling to Oslo

From 16 to 21 September 2023, Drak Theatre will present seven performances at the Norwegian children’s and youth theatre Kloden Teater.
