Residence
The Drak Theatre has long established itself as an open cultural institution providing support for the creation of contemporary puppet and alternative theatre. As part of its artistic activities, it supports not only its own creative team and ensemble, but also independent artists and students from art schools through residency programs, co-productions, and internships.
Co-productions:
Sonnets (2024):
A production created in collaboration with the socially engaged theatre Krutý krtek. It is a one-man show that offers a modern interpretation of Shakespeare’s love poetry, performed for high school students directly in their classrooms.
The Registered Association of Czech and Slovak Puppeteers Presents: Kašpárek and the Outlaw (2023):
A Czech-Slovak original production created to mark the 30th anniversary of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, in collaboration with the Bratislava Puppet Theatre. It reflects the unique closeness of the two nations and their shared history.
Antigone (2022):
An original adaptation of the ancient myth, created in co-production with Prague City Theatres. The production focuses on themes of adolescence and confrontation with authority.
Microworlds:
A dance performance created in collaboration with the artistic group ZDRUHESTRANY, Studio ALTA Prague, and Theatre Piki Pezinok. The production explores the fragility of existence through micro-movements and the play with small objects.
